SURVEY FOR DISSERTATION!


Hi!
I am currently working on my dissertation and need to do a  survey for that.
Below are some images, followed by 5 simple questions. It would be great if you could look at the images and then proceed to answer the questions.

All you have to do is post a comment, with the answers to the questions (please mention question number), along with your name and age. 

Thanks for your time! I hope your responses act as a  propeller to my mind, which seems to have fallen into a state of inertia.

    1 remember seeing the first one in a presentation on journophotography

    4 the first one, just begging for mercy
    the second one, shows the innate human tendency for violence and the feeling of power and control it gives u..though its kind of also like a little kid going 'yayy!!!!'

  4. 4. horrifying, captures the emotion which that individual might be going through..the first picture is very evocative-one can actually see fear in his eyes..
    5. Many times..the first picture is often used by the world press{particularly in the french and german press} whenever there is a piece about communal conflicts and tensions in India

    2. Don't remember the pics, hence don't remember the story as well.

    1.yes, these are the iconic photos of the Gujarat riots.
    2.i think the 1st one was about this muslim man pleading for mercy when surrounded by rioters.
    3. i dnt rmbr where i saw these photos first, but these have been published again and again in almost all major newspapers and magazines, including ht, toi, outlook, etc.

    2. How can i forget these pics are of Godhra Riots initaited by S.O.B Narendra Modi, which killed thousands of our Muslim brothers and their families.

    3. These Pics came in India Today.

    4. Killing of innocent human beings in the name of religion .These pics show the plight of a Innocent human being pleading for his life and the othr a man blinded by religion hell bent on destroying everything.

    5. many times whenever the Godhra Kand is mentioned .

    The following two questions don't make sense then right.
    Ans4) Violence, victims, disgust, hopelessness
    Ans5)I think the 3rd picture is more symbolic and very common. I see something of its style being repeated often. 2nd pic clicks too. I think I have seen ti somewhere. 1st pic leaves me clueless.

    2. It was the gujarat riots (2002). And the picture was with an article on how the man in the photo has moved out of guj and set up a successful tailor(ing) shop outside.

    4)anger, revenge, hatred, sadness, helplessness, shame( that it happened in india). showcases how every human has the tendency to become "evil" .

    2.they were published during the Gujrat riots and i remember the story accompanying the first photo.
    3.don't remember the publication in which it was published.(although u have a couple of names going around in my mind-Outlook , India today, ToI and HT. but then im not sure, which one actaully published it.)

    4.photo1-hopelessness, defeat, resigned to their fate,. photo2- victory, retribution,glory. photo3-after math. complete destruction.
    5.recall the first two pics being repeated very often. dont know whether in the same publication or elsewhere.

    2. they are the pics which became the icons of the godhra riot.
    3. tehelka and outlook did publish them. so did the TOI.
    4. the first photo was about a muslim man begging the hindu mob to spare his life and that of his family. for me it depicts hopelessness, terror. the second pic is the most offensive for me. a right wing hindu fanatic and his contribution to the righteous cause! it depicts lunacy and the feeling of being heady on power.
    the third pic depicts sad state of the security with the police arriving only after the deedis done.
    5. it was repeated in the same publications a number of times.

    2) The occasion are the Godhra riots but don’t remember the story that was published with it .
    3) Maybe a daily like Hindustan Times
    4) The helplessness and fear is very clear in his eyes . He is very uncertain whether he will be left alive by the mob .

    4) The words that come to my mind are disgust , shame and pity for this man . He thinks that he his doing a great job by killing people but can’t understand that he is nothing but a puppet in the hands of the bigger divisive forces who have actually brain washed him and many others to complete their cause .
